F2 Champion Heads for Renault World Series
Brit Hopes to Continue Winning Ways With Czech Based Team.
Reigning Formula Two Champion Dean Stoneman will move to World Series Formula Renault 3.5 with leading team ISR .
The 20 year old, who dominated in F2 last year, has agreed to join the Czech based outfit for the 2011 season in a quest for further success following his Championship winning year.
Stoneman, who recently impressed Williams in his first F1 test in Abu Dhabi is looking forward to the season ahead: “I think World Series is a great move for me. It includes some of the best circuits and attracts high calibre drivers; a number of which have gone on to F1.” He added: “I really like the Renault 3.5 car having raced in the final round last season. We were impressed with ISR, they have great experience in this series and a good record of success at this level and share my desire to win. I believe they can help me further my career.”
Enthusiasm for Stoneman’s arrival at ISR is shared by the team’s technical director Peter Berry: “We are delighted to have secured Dean for this season. We know he’s a very ambitious and talented driver who is capable of winning races and championships and we look forward to working with him to achieve further success.”
Dean will join the team for the first official test at the Motorland Circuit Aragon Spain 8th and 9th March
